By the end of 2010, Philippines’ software development industry had posted a 27.6% growth in both export revenue and employment. The Philippine software services industry export revenues hit $725 million at the end of 2010 compared to $568 million in 2009 according to a report by Tholons, a services and investment advisory group.
Empoyment rate also went up by 27.6% in 2010 as the number of FTEs hit 44,962, up from just 35,3000 in 2008 and 2009 where remained flat. Moreover, the top in the list is still banking, financial institutions and insurance, which accounted for 17.61% of all revenues of the industry for 2010, as for the trype of foreign industries that the local software industry is servicing.
