Logistics Android Application Development

This is an Android application development project outsourced from a medium-sized logistics company. In order to enhance their business efficiency, they wanted to develop a logistics business management application on Android platform to meet their business requirements. Finally, they chose RayooTech as their Android application outsourcing team.

The Android application development project was developed in Java on Linux kernel. It was divided into two parts: client side and server side. The client side application was stored in handsets and interacts with server in real time which fetches all the relevant information that the user required.

Core Technologies and Tools
Android Operating System –
Android is an operating system based on Linux kernel with a Java programming interface. It provides many Android development tools, for example, compiler, debugger, libraries, Android handset emulator, and Java virtual machine (Dalvik Virtual Machine). Android operating system also supports 2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional graphics using the OpenGL libraries and supports data storage in a SQLite database.

Android Components –
Android application contains many components that are identifiable part of program or construction. The Android component provides a particular function or group of related functions, such as Activity component, Views component, Content Provider component etc.

Activities and Layouts –
The activity of the user interface is defined via layouts and these layouts are at runtime instances of ‘android.view.ViewGroups’. The layout defines the UI elements, properties, and arrangement. The layout can be defined by Java programming or XML.

Security and Permissions –
Android allows developers to set up certain permissions for certain tasks. If the application need to access the Internet it must define in its configuration file in order to get the permission. A window should be displayed when a user install the Android application to ask the user to confirm the permission.
