The client is a Beijing-Maryland based travel agency who operates the travel itinerary between China and US. The client provides distinctive, ecologically sensitive journeys to every corner of China with custom trips highlighted by rich personal interactions and superior access to experts and venues. The client has a rich-content travel ecommerce website which needs to be maintained and developed new functions. The client wanted to create Offshore Development Center (ODC) in Beijing to reduce cost.

Business Requirement

This website provides rich information about travel services and travel industry such as travel packages, China travel planning guides, travel package search, photo galleries, videos, blog, news, travel insurance, etc. Visitors can gain all the China travel information from this comprehensive website. Because there are lots of American people are interested in traveling to China, so the client wanted to promote their website both in content and technology in order to meet travel marketing requirements. The client wanted their website can be optimized more easy to use and navigate, user friendly, search engine friendly, reducing loading time, lightweight code, adding new function and regular maintenance.

Project Overview

1- Flash Map

The simple way to know about famous places in each province is to navigate on Flash map. The Flash map is a new function applied to this website. Before using the Flash map, visitors have to read the boring text line by line to look for their ideal famous places and have no idea which provinces they are located in. However, the launched Flash map solved these problems and brought a new view of great places in China. When your mouse hover and pause on any one of provinces, the list of famous places in that province will be displayed beyond map. So visitors can be aware the exact location in China. Also visitors can have good interactive experience with website.

2- Flash Galleries

Flash Galleries show many fantastic natural or cultural landscape pictures smoothly.

3- SmugMug Gallery

SmugMug is photo sharing application which can be embedded on any web platforms easily. SmugMug provides amazing themes to fit the style of website. SmugMug provides security features to protect users, for example, password protect, selecting search engines to ignore website, hiding selected photos, making selected galleries private, etc.

4- PHP Contact Form

This is a pop-up contact form which was developed in PHP. This form contains text box, drop down menu, check box and submit/cancel buttons. Visitors can send enquiries for more information via this PHP contact form and will receive a copy to their own email inbox. This is more convenient than sending enquiries through other email services.

5- Other Updating Functions

RayooTech also help the client to add China travel videos, promote general search and advanced search function, reduced the size of pictures, lightweight code, adding Wordpress Blog etc.
